The real estate agent in Ibadan Alhaji Waheed Adetunji who petitioned popular Yoruba right activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has said he was not used by government to petition him contrary people’s belief after The Nation’s report on Tuesday.
Adetunji while speaking with some journalists in Ibadan on Wednesday said Igboho’s alleged criminal act has caused him so much embarrassment and he needed to absolved himself, a reason he made the outcry after trying other means.
Speaking on the allegation, Adetunji revealed that in 2006, he sold a two plots of land to one Mr. Adebayo Olatunde Durojaiye and Durojaiye again sold the land to another man simply identified as Amodu but Igboho and his boys forged the documents and fraudulently acquired the land at Idi-Mango village road, Soka area of Ibadan on Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Adetunji further alleged that Igboho and his cohorts made a fake land agreement between Mr. Durojaiye and him instead of the rightful owner, Amodu to acquire the land.
The real estate agent added that the development later resulted into a serious land dispute between the original buyer, Amodu and one Sudik oil who bought the land from Sunday Igboho.
Adetunji said this had since dragged his good name into the mud as Durojaiye believed I resold the land to Sunday Igboho.
He continued: “in order to save my good name, we arrested his staff who are involved in the fraud with him and his lawyer. They were later released on bail and we are waiting for the court to arraign them but efforts to petition the Oyo State Commissioner of police and get Sunday Igboho to answer questions over the allegations have been proved abortive as the police in the state seemed to be shielding him.
“Since this development, I have been living in palpable fear of possible attack by Igboho who had threatened to end my life or banish me from Ibadan. He also boasted that no security agency could arrest him as Oyo State is concerned”, he said.
Adetunji also said that Sunday Igboho who is described as untouchable has been hiding under activism for emancipation of the Yoruba race as an independent nation right to shield himself from lawful police invitation and prosecution.
He added that those avenging Sunday Igboho should tell him to openly come out and defend the criminal allegation against him before they can say he (Adetunji) is used by government to wrongfully petition him.
He also maintained that Sunday Igboho has many issues with people on landed properties but they are afraid to confront him because of his threats to their lives. He said he took the courage in order to save his good name he had built for many years.
Adetunji released a video of his lawyer, Barr. Lukman Akande Odewale during his detention in police cell where he was calling Sunday Igboho to refund the money of the land in order to get him released. But it was learnt that as soon as Sunday Igboho learnt he (the lawyer) was with the police, he hanged off the phone call saying it’s not a matter they could discuss on the phone.
