Dayo Akinleye “Maxima”, at Adebayo area, Ado-Ekiti yesterday, the former deputy governor said the relative peace being enjoyed in the state in the time past is becoming eroded with influx of thugs to unleash mayhem on innocent people and majorly pronounced leaders in the opposition.

The University don said information gathered from a reliable source reveals that some unscrupulous elements have been housed in some secret places in the state to carry out attacks on some PDP leaders .
The former deputy governor charged the governor to intimate those who imported and housed the thugs not to cause unnecessary fears ahead of 2022 governorship election.
“We saw how thugs were led by one Mentilo to create tension and coordinate attacks on the peaceful #EndSARS protesters last week. We are equally aware that businesses and investments of some PDP leaders in Ekiti have been penciled down by thugs for attacks.
“What is the rationale behind attacking businesses and lives of well meaning indigenes of Ekiti?
“Those sponsoring the thugs should desist from such because we can’t afford to go back to the dark days of attack and reprisal attacks that only God knows where it will eventually lead to”
“In the light of insecurity in the state, I am aware of two FMC staff who were kidnapped along Ijero-Aramoko road, others along Igede-Aramoko, Ijan, Ode and even a serving Commissioner under Fayemi between Isan-Iludun axis. It is unfortunate that no case of arrest or information about the miscreants threatening the peace of the state has been made public”, he said.
