The Oyo State former Deputy Governor and People Democratic Chieftain, His Excellency Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, has called for more prayers and sacrifices from various religious leaders, traditional Rulers and all Nigerians on the security issues in Nigeria.
Gbolarumi gave the call in his Easter celebration goodwill message through his Special Assistance on Media and Publicity, Olaniyi Stephen, made available to newsmen in Ibadan today, urged Christians to imbibe the enduring lessons of forgiveness, selflessness and perseverance that the 40 day Lenten, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Easter season teaches.
According to him, the security Issue in the Country in recent times especially on kidnapping, banditry and insurgency among others calls for a great concern.
Alhaji Gbolarumi described the security threat in Nigeria as unfortunate, saying the challenge has been hampering the needed and desired development in many areas across the Country.
He however expressed optimism that, with fervent prayers, cooperation and support of all and sundry, various challenges being faced by the Country will soon become a thing of the past.
Gbolarumi further stressed that Nigerians should continue demonstrating resilience and perseverance as always in order to reach the Promised Land. “Whichever side of the religion or political divides we may find ourselves, what must be paramount is the interest of our country. What makes for the good of all; welfare and security of our citizens must of a necessity be our vision and purpose,” he said
He urged Christians and other Nigerians to use the Easter season to pray fervently for peace,enduring stability in the country. Called on Christians across Nigeria to use the Easter celebrations to thank God for his grace on Nigeria and continue to pray for peace, development and the greater good of the country
