A family jostling for the Isoko Obaship stool in Ejigbo Local Government of Osun State has expressed dissatisfaction against Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s approval in the chieftaincy matter.
A judgment was delivered by a Judge at High Court Ejigbo in favour of Oni Olaleru Mosunmola family that is not a Ruling House in Isoko.
According to the judge, the other families (defendants) didn’t have a defence because the defence was filed late and the application to perfect the lateness by their lawyer was refused by the judge. Appeal against the judgment as well as application for stay of execution were filed at Court of Appeal, Akure and both are pending and slated for 29/09/2021.
According to the aggrieved family, the person picked as candidate for the stool is not a prince and was approved with wrong advice by Ministry of Justice that was supposed to advise appropriately in line with law.
“The approval ought to be revoked as the law and Supreme Court authority is to the effect that no action must be taken while Stay of Execution application is pending in Court”, the family submitted.
