The chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Oyo State, Alhaji Rasheed Adebisi Olopoeyan, has declared that come 2027, it will be the turn of Alhaji Rabiu Kwakwanso to become Nigeria’s next President.
Alhaji Olopoeyan made this declaration on Friday while speaking with newsmen at his Bashorun, Ibadan residence on the occasion of this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.
According to the Ibadan based politician, Kwakwanso, who was the NNPP’s
Presidential candidate in the 2023 election, will take over power from the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in 2027.
Alhaji Olopoeyan said: “the NNPP’s candidate will build on the party’s structures across Nigeria to prepare for the 2027 polls.
“If NNPP could within just ten months of its existence produced House of Reps members, Senators and one Governor in the 2023 elections, nothing will stop the political party from winning the 2027 presidential election”.
Olopoeyan noted that Kwakwanso is a popular politician in the North, and only needed to build party’s structures in Southern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 polls.
After meeting with journalists, the politician later hosted Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who visited him for the Eid-El-Fitr celebration.
