A 32-year-old Kenyan man who screamed to life after he was pronounced dead in a morgue during embalming has finally died.
Recalled the man identified as Peter Kiplangat Kigen was rushed to Kapkatet Hospital in Kericho on November 24th after he collapsed at home.
A health worker who checked on him upon arrival declared him dead and he was transferred to the facility’s mortuary.
Morgue attendants immediately began the embalming process but the patient wailed in pain and woke up after an incision was made on his right to infuse formalin.
This forced those who were around to scamper for safety thinking that the man had ‘resurrected’.
After recovering from the scare, morgue attendants wheeled him to the hospital’s casualty section where first aid was administered on him before he was taken to the ward to recuperate.
Kigen passed away on Thursday afternoon upon arrival at Kericho County Referral Hospital where he was transferred for further treatment, his family confirmed. Reports indicate he was suffering from a chronic disease.
“Kigen was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kericho County Hospital where he was being transferred to from Kapkatet for further treatment and management,” Hezbon Tonui, the family spokesman told Standard Digital.
