
A 43-year-old man simply named Kazeem from the Edun area of Ilorin, Kwara State, tragically lost his life after jumping into a domestic well while reportedly under the influence of a drug known as ‘Colo’ (Colorado).
According to sources, the incident occurred shortly after Kazeem returned home from Eid prayers on Friday.
Emergency responders from the Kwara State Fire Service recovered Kazeem’s body from the well after receiving a distress call at approximately 10:29 AM regarding the man’s fall into the well at the Alapo compound.
Hassan Adekunle, spokesman for the Fire Service, confirmed the details of the incident. He stated, “Upon receiving the call, firefighters were immediately dispatched to the location and successfully retrieved the body.”
After recovery, the remains were handed over to Inspector Babatunde Amos of the ‘C’ Division Police Station in Ilorin. The authorities are now awaiting formal identification and claims of the body by Kazeem’s family.
Prince Falade Olumuyiwa, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, urged residents to avoid drug abuse, emphasizing that such actions can lead to tragic consequences.
