There was a viral report that Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi cannot see his newborn prince birthed by his queen, Olori Naomi Ogunwusi.
According to palace sources, the monarch will not be allowed to set eyes on his son any time soon as the reports added that the reason for the development has a lot to do with longstanding tradition, that forbids an Ooni from seeing the newborn or the mother until the natural hair of the child has been completely scraped off, and this could be in about six months time.
In addition, the sources disclosed that some rites would be performed before the heir to the throne is brought to the palace, and his arrival would be widely celebrated.
But in reaction of a woman who is yet to be identified, said in a viral video that it was all lies.
She said: “Where is it found in Yorubaland that a king can’t see his prince? And not even to the prominent king, Alaafin.
The woman in the video revealed that Olori Naomi had actually gave birth since September but the office of the palace refused to announce it until some people appealed to the monarch that he eventually announced the arrival of the prince in November.
According to this woman, the offense of Olori Naomi was that she lied to the king that she had a child outside their marriage. According to the report, Ooni sent Olori Naomi parking and later, Olori Naomi informed the king that she was pregnant but Ooni did not accept the pregnancy.
The woman wondered why Olori Naomi did naming ceremony in her mother’s home in Akure, Ondo State Capital and not in any of his husband’s family place. She said this is why people must not believe the alleged lies of the king about his new Prince.
The woman even called the attention of people to Olori Naomi’s reaction during the naming ceremony that she was frowned which showed she was not happy.
