……Congratulates Prof. Olanike Adeyemo as The New Oyo State SSG
The immediate past State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State and former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Inter-Party Affairs, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha has disclosed that had the Nigerian constitution permitted, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State would have won a third term election.
The Bobaselu of Iseyinland noted that the governor has done so well to earn the trust and respect of the people of the State and if after his second term in office, he aspires to any higher position, there will be mass support for him.
Mustapha said this on Tuesday, in a message of appreciation, sent to Governor Makinde and made available to newsmen, over the appointment of Professor Olanike Adeyemo, an indigene of Iseyin, as the next Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the first female Oyo State SSG from Oke Ogun.
He said the people of Oke Ogun, like other communities in the State have had no cause to regret voting the governor for the first and second term, as developmental projects dotted all the geo-political zones of Oyo State, while human capital development also received special attention from the present administration.
“I have always said it and I will repeat it again that had it been that the Nigerian constitution permitted our governor to go for the third term, he would have had a smooth ride to victory, he has done so much that people have seen all over the State, both on human capital development and social infrastructures.
“The people of Oke Ogun have shown the governor their natural way of giving support to a leader that they know has their interest at heart, that is why they came out en masse to vote for his second term, for this support, the governor has also reciprocated by giving the community those things they craved over time, especially the establishment of higher institution of learning, road networks and other dividends of democracy.
“Oke Ogun community in general and Iseyin people in particular, are appreciating His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for deeming it fit to appoint Prof. Kudirat Olanike Adeyemo, a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, as the next Secretary to Oyo State Government.
“Professor Adeyemo is one out of many others with qualities required to move our State to an enviable position among other States of the federation, but she was chosen for her dedication to the cause of the growth of humanity from her younger age, especially with the use of science and academic research among other qualities.”
Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha congratulated the new SSG for the new appointment and urged her to continue to make Iseyin, Oke-Ogun and Oyo State proud.
“You have been at the front burner of human development projects and exercises at home and abroad, you will be expected to domesticate your experience by using it to better the lots of Oyo State,” the foremost politician added.
