The Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Chief Bisi Ilaka on Saturday alleged that the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi left office with eleven newly purchased vehicles belonging to the state government.
Chief Ilaka also alleged that Commissioners and other top political appointees in the Senator Ajimobi’s administration equally went away with Oyo state owned vehicles.
Speaking while featuring on a Fresh FM, Ibadan program titled, “Southwest Political Circuit”, the CoS declared that with the carting away of those vehicles, there was no vehicles on ground for the new administration and its few newly appointed political office holders in the state.
Chief Ilaka pointed out that for now Governor Seyi Makinde. and other top political office holders in the state are using their personal vehicles since there was no government vehicles left behind by the immediate past administration in the state.
He vowed that the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration will ensure that it recovers all the vehicles and other Oyo state government property reportedly carted away by the affected former political office holders in the state, saying, the state”s Director of Public Prosecution will be empowered to go after them
But in a swift reaction, the Special Adviser to Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Media Mr Bolaji Tunji, dismissed the allegations raised by Chief Ilaka.
He said the Chief of Staff should get appropriate advice before saying what he does not have information about.
“Did the Chief of Staff tell you we bought a brand new official Lexus bullet proof Jeep for Governor Makinde? He should not be pedestrian. No one made away with any vehicle. They should not continue to play politics. Let them list the names of people who made away with official vehicles. Everything done by the Ajimobi government was done legally. Ajimobi insisted on following due process on sensitive matters. He should get appropriate advice before saying what he does not have information about.”
