A source within the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) have said the financial commitment of the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) is unprecedented, noting that nobody can match Makinde’s financial commitment to CCII because the governor has contributed over N100 million towards the progress and development of CCII and Ibadanland.
The source, who pleaded anonymity said Makinde has been contributing immersely to the development of CCII before he became the governor of Oyo State.
According to him, Makinde has donated over 100 million in the last eight years when nobody supported CCII which makes him the only main financial of CCII back then.
“When Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade was the chairman of Ibadan week between 2017/2018, Makinde donated 12 million and another 15 million.”
“When Reverend Demola Moradeyo was the chairman of Ibadan week for three term, Makinde single handedly contributed nothing less than N30 million.”
“Makinde also donated N25 million to CCII when Col. Nike Akerele was the chairman of Ibadan week.”
“He was the first individual that his contributions has worth more than N100 million for CCII and development of Ibadanland, either dead or alive, no one has ever make such financial commitment to CCII than Makinde.”
“Gov Seyi Makinde equally gave a sum 20 thousand Dollars last year when Alh Gaphar Ojetola was the Chairman Ibadan Week Cultural Festival Planning committee not forgetting 10 Million Naira Scholarship Scheme he initiated during the inauguration Ceremony of Prince Yemisi Adeaga as CCII President General.”
“All together, Makinde has donated well about N150 million to CCII, and his efforts and contributions towards the development of Ibadan was appreciated by series of Awards of honour including that of Chief Yemi Solaroye’s regime as CCII President General in the year 2021”
