Alhaji Mukaila Majekodunmi Aborode, former Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources has justified the dissolution of the elected Local Government and LCDA Bosses ordered by the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde few hours after his inauguration.

Alh. Aborode, a member of the PDP PDP during the Grassroot Development Program, Ijoba-Ibadan on Splash 105.5FM, Ibadan with Abiodun Adewole (Mr Double ‘A’) on Saturday stressed that, it is normal because this is not the first time such will happen and same thing also happened in some other states in the country like Osun state, suggesting Oyo All Progressives Congress (APC) to accept the order in good fate.

He added that, the election conducted last year to elect LG and LCDA Chairmen was aimed to capsize the present administration, and APC should go challenge the Governor’s order in law court, if they wish to.

And as a matter of fact, they warned APC when they did their own during Ajimobi’s administration but they discarded the warning and their action has boomerang now.

He said, “There is law and culture. What Gov. Makinde did is normal. This has happened in some states in the country like Osun state so why can’t they accept the order in good fate?

“The LG election held at stoppage time was to capsize our government. It’s was a trap and we both understand the game.

“Those LG and LCDA Council we dissolved should go to court, if they like.

“Mind you, we warned them when they did their own then but they discarded the warning and their action has boomerang now”

Barr. Abayomi Sulaimon, Chairman of Ogbomosho Central LCDA responded that, ex-Gov. Ajimobi of their party came into the corridor of power just one month to the end of the existing LG Council tenure then. He rather sustained them in his government, and even paid their salary till their tenure expires and that suppose to serve as an example for PDP.

Sulaimon described the dissolution of the existing LG and LCDA Councils is called ‘Legal Cosmetic, stressing that no governor has power to give such order.

Gov. Makinde suppose to work with everyone irrespective of their party difference as he pledged during his inauguration ceremony but it seems he’s bias now, adding that PDP is in power now, and they will start appointing commissioners and they have 27 members in the state House of Assembly so that should be enough.

Also, they claimed APC has hijacked the judiciary system, then why APC governorship candidate nullified in Rivers state by the Supreme Court.

He said, “Gov. Ajimobi assumed office just one month to the end of the existing LG Council tenure then. He sustained them in his government, and paid their salary. He never vacated them till their tenure expired and that suppose to serve as an example for PDP.

“The governor’s order is called ‘Legal Cosmetic’. Governors has no power to do that.

“Gov. Makinde should work with everyone irrespective of their party difference as he pledged during his inauguration ceremony but it seems he’s bias.

“PDP is in power now, and they will start appointing commissioners and will have 27 members in the state House of Assembly; I think that should be enough for them!

“They claimed APC has hijacked the judiciary system, then why APC governorship candidate nullified in Rivers state by the Supreme Court.”

However, Prince Abass Aleshinloye, the Oyo ALGON Chairman has decried to members of the public that his life is being threatened by some unscrupulous persons pertaining to this issue and he seeks maximum security for his life and properties and co-members in the union.
