A final year student of Federal University Dutse (FUD), identified as Abdullahi Bashir, has committed suicide after his girlfriend allegedly cheated on him on Valentine’s day.
It was gathered that the young man was a 400 level student of arithmetic at the University and his alleged girlfriend is said to be a 100 level student of the same institues.
He decided to take his life because his girlfriend was dishonest as reports revealed that Abdullahi drank a toxic substance which caused his death.
The incident said to happen two days after Valentine’s day, but the report only trended online yesterday after the cause of his death was ascertained.
It was also gathered that the incident took place at Yelwawa quarters in Dutse local government area. Although he was rushed to the hospital immediately the neighbours noticed but it was too late.
“Abdullahi took the wrong decision, I mean there are many fishes in the river, the young man should have gone for another lady”, he was advised.
“The world won’t remember you when you take your life especially because of a lady you are not even legally married to”, another comment says.
