Tragedy struck on the Ketu Expressway in Lagos as a Nigerian man reportedly died behind the wheel while returning home from work.
According to a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the incident occurred during heavy traffic, drawing the attention of nearby motorists and passersby. The woman who filmed the video claimed she had been trailing the man’s car in the slow-moving traffic when he suddenly stopped and became unresponsive.
Despite repeated horn blasts from surrounding vehicles, there was no reaction from the driver. Concerned individuals eventually approached the car and discovered that the man had slumped over the steering wheel. He was later confirmed dead at the scene.
The incident caused a major obstruction as the vehicle blocked one lane. Street hawkers and passersby could be seen directing traffic and urging drivers to switch lanes.
“My car was right next to his when he suddenly parked. When people gathered to check on him, they realized he had passed away,” the woman behind the video narrated.
The video quickly spread across social media, sparking a wave of emotional reactions and condolences from netizens.
Here are a few reactions:

@grind_charts: “Imagine dying in traffic built by colonial maps, maintained by corrupt contractors, and ignored by leaders flying above it. That’s Nigeria.”
