Talented Nollywood actress, Aderonke Esther Adeniyi has disclosed where her passion for her career started from.
The Yoruba Nollywood actress popularly known with the stage name ‘Sikemi’ said she began her acting career from the church as a drama coordinator before proceeding to join the Mui Authentic School of Drama owned by Ace actor Muyiwa Ademola.
She disclosed this during an interview on Wednesday.
The Oyo state born filmmaker featured in a film for the first time on a movie set titled ‘Ebure’ but professionally began her career in the movie industry in 2008.
She said, “I was actually the drama coordinator in my church before joining the Mui Authentic School of Drama, so I was invited to a movie set titled “Ebure” and that was my first experience facing the camera. I officially joined the movie industry in 2008.”
Her debut work as a producer was shot in 2014 with the movie, ‘Sikemi’ where she grabbed her stage name from. Her other productions are Iboju, Ajaga, Aya wa, Twisted, Ogun Perosola and forbidden.
The proud mother of four has also featured in several movies which include Iku Ewa, Oyenusi, Atori, Ogede Dudu, Woto, Iranran, Orisirisi, Bojuboju, Aroko and others.
With her few years in the industry, the beautiful screen diva has been able to grab some awards for her outstanding work in the industry. These include; Mainland TV show awards (Outstanding Actress of the year 2017), Greenview Entertainment Awards(Revelation Actress of the year 2019) amongst other recognition.
Speaking to upcoming acts, Aderonke advised them to “keep being focused and never be too desperate but consistent in their work”
