Former Deputy Governor and an Aspirant in just concluded PDP Governorship Primary Election in Oyo State, His Excellency Barr Hazeem Gbolarumi, has said he and his followers across the State will not leave the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, due to the controversies trailed last Governorship Primary Election in the state.
Gbolarumi stated this in a meeting he had with all his followers across the state where he briefed them the outcome of the last Governorship Primary Election, and the way forward.
At the meeting he said, “we are not leaving the party, but to work together to build the Peoples Democratic party, PDP in Oyo State in order to win the forthcoming general election come 2023.
“I appeal to those that attended the governorship primary to be calmed while I desire your level of commitment. Whatever happened on the field is to the glory of God. My team is not a thuggery group and I advise members not to be discouraged.
“I also advised you to be focused as PDP members because I’m one of the grassroot politicians that established PDP in Oyo State. I don’t run a do or die politics and party members must not do otherwise.
“I appreciate delegates’ steadfastness during the primary. Before my interest to contest against Seyi Makinde, I visited national elders in PDP like Atiku, Jonathan, Obasanjo and others to seek for their blessings.
“Now, my support is for Atiku to win presidential election come 2023. Politics is an investment and people should be continued to be devoted and have trust in the political party. On Atiku, we pray that his wish to become Nigerian president will come to pass with collective interest and unrelenting efforts of the party members
