NCAA Blacklists Fuji Star K1 De Ultimate for 6 Months Over Airport Security Breach

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has slammed a six-month travel ban on iconic Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Omogbolahan, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, over an alleged breach of airport security protocols.

According to sources within the aviation sector, the sanction, which takes immediate effect, bars the celebrated performer from flying through any airport within Nigeria until February 2026.

The decision follows a preliminary investigation conducted by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), which reportedly found K1 culpable of misconduct during a recent altercation at an unnamed airport. The incident allegedly occurred when the singer attempted to board a ValueJet Airlines flight while carrying a flask that contained a liquid substance suspected to be alcohol.

The FAAN report claims the liquid spilled during a security check, splashing on airport personnel, including the flight’s pilot. The situation reportedly escalated into a heated confrontation, prompting officials to deny the musician boarding privileges. The breach was deemed serious enough to warrant further action by the aviation regulator.

In response, K1 De Ultimate has denied the allegations. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the veteran musician insisted that the flask in question contained only plain water, not alcohol as alleged by FAAN.

“I did not carry alcohol through airport security,” the statement read in part. “The flask contained ordinary drinking water for personal use. It is unfortunate that the situation was misrepresented and blown out of proportion.”

The NCAA has not confirmed whether the ban would be reviewed if new evidence emerges, but officials say a full investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, industry stakeholders have praised the NCAA’s firm stance, describing it as a warning to all air travelers—regardless of status—on the need to comply with established aviation rules and security measures.

As of press time, neither ValueJet Airlines nor FAAN had issued an official statement beyond the preliminary report.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions among fans and members of the public, with many calling for a transparent investigation and urging both parties to act responsibly.
