The Nigerian Communications Commission has launched 615 as the new Emergency Security Number in Oyo State especially for distress call. The Emergency Security Number is a toll free.
In a tweet on Monday, Governor Seyi Makinde said the new number was part of his administration’s plans to have a more effective communications centre in the state.
The launch comes few weeks after representatives of the NCC led by the Head, Emergency Communication Centre, Mr Mohammed L. Ibrahim paid Makinde a visit in his office to intimate the governor on the commission’s activities in the state which hosts one of the six zonal offices in Nigeria.
Makinde, in his tweet on Monday, recalled he stated at the meeting that he was particularly interested in having a more effective emergency communication centre in Ibadan.
