The All Progressive Congress, (APC) Oyo State Chapter has advised the incumbent governor of the state Engr. Seyi Makinde on polices that can drive enviable development in the state.
The political party in its message by Publicity Secretary, AbdulAzeez Olatunde titled ‘Nigeria @ 59, Democrac @ 20 Independence message, frowned at underdevelopment in the country.

United Nations acceptable International suffrage is 18 years, and for believing that an 18 years of age can vote is an assumption that an 18 year old child is old enough to distinguish bad things from the good ones, hence our belief that with our 20 years unbroken Democracy, its time we learn to start getting things right.
In Nigeria of 2019, there are 43 Universities, 29 Polytechnics, 21 Colleges of Education at the Federal level whilst there are 48 universities, 48 polytechnics and 49 colleges of Education at the State Government level whereas there are 79 Private universities, 55 Private Polytechnics and 82 Private Colleges of Educations.
The Total number of all the Higher Institutions in Nigeria as at 2019 is 454.Conservatively, if each of these 454 Higher institutions GRADUATE an average of 5,000 Students annually, we have annual addition of 2,270,000 Eligible Job seekers in circulation.
Again on another Ten years conservative scale, Nigerian that are Eligible Job seekers are whopping 23 million, which is alarming enough to trigger SECURITY CHALLENGES that is currently ravaging our Country, Nigeria today in various ways either sectarian or religious revolt which mostly ends up in conflagrations.
It is therefore not surprising the enormous emigration of Nigerians, daily to different countries across the globe.
However, with the blessings of Natural Resources, the only thing left is Responsible Leadership as witnessed by GHANA in the early 1980s when NIGERIA sent the GHANAIAN Nationals back to their country in the then popular GHANA MUST GO.
If Ghana could reposition itself by rejigging its economy to an enviable height, it is our belief that Nigeria can also be better, if we decide to put our thinking caps,moreso, with natural endowment of surfeit of Natural Resources
Only recently, GHANA redirected its economic direction from TAX Driven economy to PRODUCTION Driven Economy which honestly is the bottom line of the NEXT LEVEL SLOGAN of the Second Term of President Muhammadu Buhari which is spreading across the country today, which Infact was the reason for the Land Border closure, so that we could Plant and process what we eat when we are blessed with the Arable Land, good for those crops i.e Rice, with the intention of Job creation for our army of jobless people,youth most especially.
A cursory glance at some countries vis-a-vis their Landmass will introduce our veering to Oyo State.
Oyo State has 28,454 sq km Landmass, whereas Rwanda has 26,338 sq km Landmass, but has grown its population to 12,063 million after the genocide of two decades ago that almost wiped away that country with Production Economy and Tourism, Singapore has 716 sq km has a population of 5,469,700 million likewise HONG-KONG has a Landmass of 1,104 sq km and over the decades grew its population to 7,044 million.
As at today, Oyo State has grown its population from 2006 figure of 5,591,589 to approximate 6 million plus, because of the Landmark achievements of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State,H. E Sen Abiola Ajimobi courtesy of his achievements on SECURITY, URBAN RENEWAL INFRASTRUCTURAL Provision which has attracted a couple of Investors to Oyo State i.e FRIESLAND CAMPINA WAMCO for Dairy products, KAMA FOOD INDUSTRY for Soybeans to Soya-Oil processing,
NIJI LUCAS, EAGLESON, NITO, ALFAWAZ, PSALTRY for Cassava Processing.As Nigeria marks its 59th Independence and our Democracy is marking 20 unbroken years,APC in Oyo State believed that The Pacesetter State has all it takes to stand on its own with our Naturally endowed resources.
OYO STATE has 22,763.2 sq km cultivable Land mass, with Rain Forest and Savannah Vegetation, No two states in Nigeria is lucky to have the vegetations as we have in OYO STATE.
OYO STATE is lucky to have a lot of Research Institutes i.e CRIN, IITA, FRIN, NIHORT, IAR & T, OORBDA – Ogun Osun River Basin et al.
We have Arable Land and Vegetation that can support the Cultivation of Cassava, Maize, Yam, Cocoyam, Rice, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Soya beans and Sorghum.
Livestock-cattle, sheep, Goat et al are rearable to lucrative level in Oyo State.
Likewise are Poultry businesses in Chicken, Turkey, Quails et al as well as Fisheries intervention in Catfish, Tilapia etc without ignoring Forestry interventions in Teak, Aborea.
Plantation of Fruit Trees like Citrus, Mango, Cashew, Plantain, Banana, Pawpaw and Pineapple.
Furthermore, Moringa, Oil Palm, Cocoa etc thrives well in Oyo State, without neglecting Market Gardening Crops like Tomato, Pepper, Cucumber, Watermelon, teteria(ugwu), okra are all veritable means of getting our out of schools, idle hands engaged productively.
However, like we had previously highlighted that the Next level stage of Nigeria now is Industrialization, which the immediate past Government of H. E, Sen Abiola Ajimobi kickstarted, most of these crops are natural Raw materials for Agro Allied Industries which could come by
(1) Tomato paste processing
(2) Cashew Nut Processing
(3) Cassava Processing
(4) Honey Processing
(5) Fish processing and packagingThere is also SPORTS and Tourism industries that could serve as ancillary employment generation windows.
Finally, to lend seriousness to the above, Oyo State would need to tap into WASTE TO WEALTH POWER GENERATION for uninterrupted power supply, DANGOTE generate its energy needs at OBAJANA, Kogi State and IBESE near ILARO in Ogun State.
So also, good road network will encourage and assure potential INVESTORS of the seriousness of the Government.
It is our believe that, with the above added to whatever the PDP Government of His Excellency, Engr SEYI MAKINDE has before, there would be little or no need for financial wastage on battling crime and security breaches through arms and ammunition purchases.
We have no other state we could called our own, hence our suggestions, moreover when we consider other states opening various Agriculture value chains Companies like KOGI, ANAMBRA, CROSS RIVER, LAGOS and others commissioning Giant Size RICE MILLS.
