His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa I), has called on traditional rulers across Yorubaland to lead by example in order to sanitize and uphold the integrity of the traditional institution.
Oba Ladoja, who made the call on Tuesday while receiving Oba (Dr.) Ibrahim Lawal Bello, the Olofi of Isheri Olofin, Lagos State, at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, emphasized the need for royal fathers to serve as role models and promoters of peace and unity within their domains.
He noted that Ibadanland was ready to collaborate with Isheri Olofin in areas of community development and project establishment, adding that both towns share deep cultural and historical ties.
According to him, “Isheri town has many things in common with Ibadanland, such as the pursuit of peaceful coexistence, promotion and preservation of Yoruba cultural values, love for our people, and the desire to advance our towns to enviable heights.”
In his remarks, Oba Ibrahim Lawal Bello expressed appreciation to the Olubadan for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage. He stated that the visit was aimed at learning from Oba Ladoja’s exemplary leadership and remarkable achievements in public service and traditional administration.
“We are in your palace to learn more about your leadership qualities and achievements so that we can replicate such successes in our own community,” the Olofi of Isheri Olofin said.
He concluded by praying for God to grant Oba Ladoja sound health, long life, and continued wisdom in the service of God and humanity.
The courtesy visit was attended by members of the Olubadan Advisory Council and other traditional title holders from Ibadanland.
