A serving lawmaker representing Akinyele/ Lagelu federal constituency, Hon. Temitope Olatoye has been reportedly killed by gunshot by a suspected political thugs.
Livetimes gathered that Olatoye who lost the National Assembly election bid to return to the Senate two weeks ago had voted at his Alape village in Ward 13 Lagelu local government area before he was shot.
According to reports, Olatoye was shot in Lalupon area of Ibadan after he fired at a thug from an opposition party but who in reprisal attack, fired back at him which penetrated his face.
The lawmaker was reported dead after he was rushed to the University College Hospital (UCH), in Ibadan immediately he was shot.
Olatoye had last year dumped the ruling APC and joined the Action Democratic Party (ADP) where he ran in the election held on Saturday 23rd February. He later lost to Senator Teslim Folarin of APC.
