The Coronation Organizing Committee set up by the Oyo State Government has released a traffic advisory ahead of the official installation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, at the historic Mapo Hall.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the security sub-committee chaired by former CCII President, Chief Bayo Oyero, disclosed that several major routes leading to Mapo Hall will be closed to traffic from 7:00 a.m. on the day of the ceremony. The decision, it noted, was influenced by the anticipated presence of President Bola Tinubu, who has confirmed his attendance.
According to the advisory, the affected routes include Beere Junction inward Mapo Hall, Born Photo Junction inward Oja’ba, Idi-Arere Junction inward Oja’ba, and Itamerin Junction inward Mapo Hall.
To ease movement, the committee announced three designated car parks within Ibadan: the Ibadan North Local Government car park in front of the Immigration Office, Agodi; the football field beside Yemetu Police Station; and Liberty Stadium, Oke Ado. From these locations, shuttle buses will be provided to convey invited guests with valid entry cards to Mapo Hall.
Vendors and service providers have been directed to arrive at the venue between 6:00 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., before the roads are fully shut down.
The committee emphasized that only the convoys of the President and the Oyo State Governor will be permitted access to the restricted routes leading directly to the coronation venue.
