Olubadan-Designate Ladoja Offers to Teach Physics, Mathematics at Ibadan Boys’ High School After Coronation

The Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has pledged to return to his alma mater, Ibadan Boys’ High School, to teach Physics and Mathematics to students once he ascends the throne as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Ladoja made the promise on Monday while receiving the school’s management team, led by Principal Rasheed Fasasi, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The former governor recalled his days as both a student and later a teacher at the school, stressing that his visit after coronation would serve as an opportunity to inspire the younger generation.

“Beyond being an alumnus of the school, I was also a former teacher here, where I taught Mathematics and Physics. So, during my visit after the coronation, I will engage the students in classwork,” Ladoja stated.

The monarch-in-waiting expressed gratitude to the school authorities for the courtesy visit and lauded the principal for sustaining the institution’s legacy as a model citadel of learning.

Responding, Principal Fasasi congratulated Ladoja on his forthcoming coronation and expressed optimism that his planned return would rekindle pride among students and boost their morale.

Ladoja, who previously held the title of Osi Olubadan, automatically became the Olubadan-designate following the passing of Oba OwolabiOlakulehin, in line with Ibadan’s merit-based succession system.

His coronation is expected to attract dignitaries from across Nigeria, reinforcing Ibadan’s cultural prestige while also underscoring his lifelong commitment to education and mentorship.

Analysts say Ladoja’s pledge reflects the deep connection between Ibadan’s traditional institution and its educational heritage, portraying the Olubadan not only as a custodian of culture but also as a beacon of intellectual and moral guidance for future generations.
