By Richard Thomas, Ibadan

Sons and daughters of Ibadan land have been admonished to cooperate and give more support to High Chief Lekan Balogun, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan land as he prepares to ascend the throne of the Olubadan.

The admonition was given by a Human Right Activist, Comrade Kehinde Akinyemi during his visit to High Chief Lekan Balogun at his Alarere residence, Iwo Road in Ibadan on Monday.

Comrade Akinyemi said Senator Lekan Balogun is a man who the cap fits, owing to his background and his credible records and standard adding that by tradition of the land, he is the next Olubadan.

According to him, the development is the plan of God to make High Chief Senator Lekan Balogun ascend the throne of Olubadan in order to bring more development to land.

“Everything is happening in God’s time. Baba Lekan Balogun is the man who the cap fits. He is a man known for peace and humility. He is also a man of high pedigree and sterling leadership qualities. We believe in him, and I urge sons and daughters of Ibadan land to support him.’

Comrade Akinyemi said expectations of the people are high but expressed the belief that they will witness more laudable developments and peace in the land in his reign. He prayed God in His infinite mercy to help High Chief Balogun to do more for Ibadan land.

He recalled that Aliwo in 1952 produced Olubadan whose reign was very peaceful, adding that it is the Lord’ s doing racing the next Olubadan from from the same area.

According to him, only God knows why he made it possible to bring another Olubadan from Aliwo at this time, just as he advised the people of Ibadan to support him in order to make his reign a complete success

It will be recalled that the occupier of the stool, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Aje Ogunguniso 1, joined his ancestor at the early hours of Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 during a brief illness at the University College Hospital, (UCH), Ibadan.

The development has since left the stool open for the next Olubadan to ascend the throne.
