The Old Students Association of Osogbo Grammar School has kicked off a 3 day event to celebrate the 71st years of the founding of the college.
Osogbo Grammar School was founded in 1950 and has grown to become one of the nation’s citadels of learning.
According to a statement by the national president of the association both in Nigeria and Diaspora, Professor Michael Ologunde, made available to journalists in Osogbo, Osun state capital, the event will begin on Friday with a Jumat Service at Central Mosque Ojaba and round off with a thanksgiving service on Sunday at the All Saints Cathedral, Osogbo.
Other activities lined up for the event include the final of the interschool debate and quiz competition which will hold at the Main hall of the school on Friday, while the book launch on the History of the institution will come up on Saturday at the school premises.
Ologunde also stated that projects which include the rehabilitated/renovated Geography building, a block of six classrooms and the school library will be commissioned and donated to the school by the Old Students association during the anniversary.
The alumni, according to Ologunde will also hold cock-tail/reception as well as presenting merit awards to deserving Old students of the school.
