Femi Awogboro, the media aide to governorship candidate of Accord Party in Oyo State in the forthcoming 2023 elections, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu has reacted to statement made by the state chairman of All Progressive Congress, Chief Ajiboye Omodewu recently during a radio programme in Ibadan.
According to Awogboro, the APC Chairman is economical with the truth over what prompted his principal to opt out of the party.
Awogboro in a press statement made available to journalists on Monday morning said, “It is crystal clear that Ajiboye Omodewu has pitched his tent in support of an aspirant before the Governorship Primary election in the State.The party has never been divided like this until Ajiboye Omodewu and his principal fraudulently hijacked the party for their own selfish and parochial interest.
“What has happened to the reconciliation committee chaired by Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and one on one consultation made by Ajiboye Omodewu? All are efforts in futility. It is better for him to dedicate his strength to mend the cracked Oyo APC under his watch, rather than tanishing the image of Chief Adelabu”, Awogboro said
He added that Chief Adelabu is working strategically to achieve his governorship ambition under the Accord Party and with the reality on ground and the feedbacks being received so far saying Oyo APC is technically defeated before the 2023 governorship election in Oyo state.
” On Wednesday, this week Chief Adebayo Adelabu will receive hundreds of APC members in Akinyele Local Government who have joined Accord Party since Chief Adelabu become governorship candidate of the party”
“If Omodewu is still thinking that my principal, former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria will join the Oyo APC, it is another tactics being propagated to draw attention of the public to their side. I challenge the APC chairman to do the opinion poll about APC Governorship candidate in Oyo state ,then he will no their fate even before the 2023 poll”, Awogboro posited.
