Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, the Commissioner representing Oyo State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), has joined eminent personalities in Oyo and beyond to congratulate the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on his ascension to the throne.
Prof. Olowofela in a statement on Sunday expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the new Olubadan, commending his leadership and the positive impact he is expected to have on the people of Ibadanland.
Olowofela also prayed that the coronation of the new Olubadan will mark the beginning of greater things to come for the ancient Olubadan throne and Ibadan land.
Olowofela, the former Commissioner for Education in Oyo State and Ido Local Council Chairman, also thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for recognizing the contribution of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi and the 11 Local Government Councils in Ibadan during his tenure.
According to Olowofela, Governor Makinde, in a statement posted on his verified social media handles on Wednesday night, expressed gratitude to the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who contributed to the realization of the new Olubadan Palace project.
He said the governor also announced that a process has been established where all 11 local government councils in Ibadan will contribute to the upkeep of the new palace on a monthly basis.
“The Governor further stated that the second phase of the palace will include the renovation of the Bower’s Tower, which will help boost tourism in the state”, Olowofela submitted.
