…seeks more collaboration with stakeholders
Oyo State Government on Saturday pledged its commitment to ensuring that every child of school age in the state has access to qualitative education.
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu made the pledge at the opening of SQI/ AI and Robot Research and Training Center, Ibadan, sought more collaboration with stakeholders in the education sector.
The Commissioner, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Intervention, Oloye Suraj Tiamy, said that the governor’s investment in education would significantly improve people’s lives as it benefits people in the society.
He reiterated that Governor Seyi Makinde led administration is focused on promoting quantitative and qualitative Education for students in the state.
He said: I would like to reiterate that the state government, under the leadership of Eng.’Seyi Makinde,is focused on promoting quantitative and qualitative Education for students through the planning, Research and Statistics Department in the Ministry of Education.
‘Presently, the state government is liaising with non-governmental organizations who are partnering with the state in research, particularly in the area of Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).’ I want to appreciate SQI College of ICT limited for setting up a research center of this type at the time Nigeria needs advanced technical know-how for rapid development and betterment of the economic situation of our dear state and Nigeria as whole.
” The government requires the support of all stakeholders to achieve its laudable objectives in the Education Sector in the state.

Speaking at the event, the founder of SQI/A1,Mr. Adeyemi Aderinto, said the institution has been a gateway through which youths are getting great job opportunities and occupy great positions at global tech giant companies like Google and Facebook.
Aderinto said the goal of the Institution is to make sure Africa is no longer a spectator when it comes to the game of technology.
” We want to be a body that will encourage youths, in terms of job-readiness and all sorts, globally, so that they can fit into place immediately after they finish in our school .
