As part of effort to ensure water sufficiency, Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (OYRUWASSA) on Friday took delivery of a new drilling rig with compressor.
This was made known by the Chairman, OYRUWASSA, Engr. Najeem Omirinde on Friday at his Ibadan office, where he assured the residents of the State of water sufficiency, especially at the rural areas.
Omirinde said the procurement and delivery of the Indian made drilling rig by the current administration, led by governor Seyi Makinde was a testament to the fact that it would no longer be business as usual in the State, especially in the area of water supply and sanitation.
He lauded the governor for promising and delivering on making potable water accessible to the people.
“This is another promise fulfilled and we congratulate the good people of Oyo State for having such a governor with human passion, especially for those at the rural areas of the State.
“We all know the importance of water for healthy living and sanitation as well as for other aspects of life, we assure the people that with this machine in place and the quality known with this type of rig, we will make water sufficiency a priority,” Omirinde assured.
The State government has recently announced that it had acquired the drilling rig and would be shipped to Nigeria for the use of Oyo State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, OYRUWASSA.
