The Acting Rector, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH),Igboora, Mr. Olaniyi Adekunle has commended the Alumni Association of the institution for donating X-ray and Medical Laboratory Building to the Polytechnic.
The Acting Rector who could not hide his joy made this know while inspecting the two bedroom flat apartment, constructed as x-ray and laboratory building, built beside the college health centre.
In his words, ” we appreciate the Alumni Association for its initiative in giving back to its alma mater. We never expected it but now that they have given us this facility, we are so excited about it, while thanking the Alumni Association for the support. We believe that this singular donation would stimulate more donations from our alumni and other well meaning individuals.
In a letter, jointly signed by the President and General Secretary of OYSCATECH Alumni Association, Mr. Mojeed Anifowose and Yekeen Mohammed respectively, it reads thus, ” we are pleased to inform the management that the x-ray and laboratory building whose foundation laying was performed by the Acting Rector together with other management committee members on the 24th March, 2020 has been completed.
“In view of the above, the Alumni Association Executives wish to formally handover the X-ray and medical Laboratory building to the management of the institution having completed it.”
According to the letter, ” we are of the opinion that the donation would help to improve the health and well being of students and staff of our great alma mater, especially at this Covid -19 pandemic period and beyond.
“The letter further reads, ” we must put on record the trust, understanding and the unflinching support received from the management, under the able leadership of Mr. Olaniyi Adekunle .
“We are fully persuaded that Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora will continue to play a vital role in agricultural and technological advancement of the State and youths in general.”
The president expressed gladness at the opportunity to plough back the x-ray and laboratory building into their alma mater, four months after their inauguration as duly elected executives, while stating that the association looks forward to the date of the commissioning of the building.
