The Rector, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi has called for love and unity among Staff and Students of the institution.
This charge was given by the Rector during the Annual Inter-faith Prayer session organized by the institution to ushering in the New Year.
The rector reiterated that it is only in the atmosphere of love and unity that development can thrive. He therefore called for peaceful co-existence among Staff and Students.
He also advised Staff and Students of the institution to draw their New Year resolutions and ensure that they work towards achieving set goals for themselves and the institution.
According to the Rector, “we must learn to imbibe best practices, accomplish goals and improve our behaviour as the year begins because the institution will not condone any form of truancy, laziness, lateness and all acts of indiscipline.”
The entire management team used the occasion to appreciate all Staff and Students for their support and the smooth running of the academic session in the last one year of Akinlabi led administration.
Earlier, the Registrar, Mr. Rasheed Fasasi Adenrele Adeniji who congratulated all Staff and Students for the opportunity to witness the New Year underscored the importance of prayers in the life of any individual or institution.
The Registrar, then called for persistent prayers toward moving the institution forward.
The Christian Community President, Engr. James Agboola in his sermon advised Staff and Students of the institution to look up to God and rely solely on him who is able to help during challenging period. He emphasized the need to love one another and be there for one another as fellow members of the same community.
The Christian Community president, therefore prayer for the blessings and wisdom of God for the Management and Staff in the New Year.
In his sermon, Mr. Abiodun Badmus, the Head of Department for Public Administration who led the prayer session in the Islamic way prayed that the mercy and forgiveness of Allah shine upon every staff and students of the institution and grant the Management, the strength to run the polytechnic successfully with a view to overcoming challenges that may come her way.
Also, in their separate prayers, Dr. Oladapo Ojo, Chairman, Committee of Deans and Engr. Lawal Balogun prayed for God’s protection, peace and abundant blessings upon Staff and Students.
The Annual Inter-Faith Prayer Session was well attended by the entire Management Team, Deans, Directors, Head of Teaching and Non-Teaching Departments, Staff and Students of OYSCATECH.
