Two people were reportedly killed while one other injured by group of armed robbers who on Tuesday attacked a mechanic workshop at Olomi community of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
It was gathered that the ugly incidence occurred around 7pm where one J.S.S 1 student of Aba-Alfa Secondary School was killed through the gun shot by the armed robbers. The boy was said to be 14-year-old.
“He’s easy a boy that is loved by all, easing going and simple. He do come after school to the mechanic workshop where he learns the craft…” the father of the deceased said.
According to eye witness, three young men on a motorcycle said to have followed one Alhaja in the community to a compound which is close to the mechanic workshop. The Alhaja was attacked immediately after she alighted, with all precious loads including her necklace, bangles, bags e.t.c. snatched from her possession.
However, the armed robbers during the attack, releases gun shots at intervals which penetrated into many motor vehicles park in the workshop and resulted to the death of 2 people and 1 bitterly injured.
Reacting to the incidence, a resident bitterly lamented over the insecurity in the community saying lives are not safe in the community.
“the medical practitioners said to us at mortuary that the corpse of the boys made up 17th dead bodies that will be reported from Olomi community within the short period of a week…” a dweller said to us.
It was also gathered that, the occurrence is very perpetual in the community as such robbery case was recorded 3 days ago at a petrol station.
Consequently, the case has been reported to the Nigeria Police Force, Sanyo station hoping for a successful investigative work.
Though, before their arrival, the deeds is done as a result of far distance.
The people of the community therefore begged the government of Oyo state to come to their rescue saying, “we want the government to protect our life’s and properties particularly in this Olomi community”.
