Portland Gas Unveils CNG Mobile Refill Units to Boost Access Nationwide

Portland Gas Limited has launched its Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) mobile refill units in Ojota, Lagos, marking a major step toward expanding CNG accessibility across Nigeria.

At the unveiling, CEO and Founder Folajimi Lai-Mohammed emphasized the company’s mission to establish mobile CNG stations nationwide, reducing reliance on pipeline gas and ensuring cleaner energy reaches underserved areas. He called on the federal government to provide easier access to funding and greater industry support to accelerate development.

The event saw the presence of key stakeholders, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Abimbola Akinajo, Managing Director of LAMATA. Other notable attendees included Armstrong Takang, CEO of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated; Michael Oluwagbemi, CEO of PiCNG; Yusuf Othman, National President of NARTO; Oluwemimo Osanipin, Director General of NADDC; and Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation.

Portland Gas embarked on its CNG project over four years ago, ahead of the federal government’s official presidential initiative on Compressed Natural Gas.
