CHRISTIANS from all walks of life have again been charged not to glorify poverty but focus on true wealth as that is the will of God for their lives.
This assertion was made by the Global Lead Pastor of The Nation Family, a Pentecostal movement in the heart of London city which is also known as SPAC Nation.
Pastor Tobi was speaking during the Wealth Nation service which beamed via the online channels of the Church.
According to PT as the 40-year old Pastor is also called by many of his congregants, believers are to jettison the mindset that being in Christ is tantamount to being poor. He said without any fear of contradiction that God is not in any way poor “so putting God and poverty in the same sentence is very wrong”,
Pastor Tobi explained that the mistake many people make in Christendom is that they confuse modesty with being poor, adding that they are miles apart from one another.
“A modest individual is not a poor person. God does not say we should be poor. What He says is that we should not let our lifestyle make people derail from God. You don’t have to be poor to be seen as a Christian, in fact a poor Christian does not represent our God who actually wishes for us to prosper.”
He further cited the example of The Lord’s prayer where he quoted the portion “thine will be done on earth as it is in Heaven”.
“God’s will in Heaven is what is written in the book of Revelation where we are told the streets of Heaven are paved with gold. A poor God will not pave the streets of our heavenly home with gold. Make no mistake, God does not promote or glorify poverty.”
Pastor Tobi further explained that what houses, cars and money which many focus on as true wealth are not God’s definition of wealth. According to him, true wealth is the attainment of purpose and God wants all believers to be wealthy.
“All these flashy materials and drip do not connote true wealth. All you need to have true wealth is knowledge which you cannot have without having the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that is the wealth key of nations. We need to understand that these things are intertwined: surrender yourself to Christ and welcome the Holy Spirit, seek and have knowledge which is the currency you need to thrive in life and you will fulfil purpose, which is wealth in the context of what God stands for. If you wanna lose in life, don’t recognize the Holy Spirit.”
Responding to criticism by some politicians in the United Kingdom, PT said they do not have the range for what God is doing in The Nation Family.
“They have not seen anything yet. The move of God through The Nation Family will be stronger than what eyes have ever seen. The next world will be led by Pastors, young folks who are intelligent, bright and knowledgeable and filled with the Holy Spirit. These ones will not fit into any box as created by society. They will reset foundations and remould broken walls.”
