Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, former Oyo State Commissioner for Education and erstwhile Federal Character Commissioner, has extended warm felicitations to the Olubadan-designate, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, as he marks his 81st birthday and prepares for his historic coronation on Friday, September 26, 2025, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In his congratulatory message, Olowofela described the former governor as “a man of destiny, a courageous leader, and a bridge-builder whose life exemplifies service, humility, and resilience.” He noted that Ladoja’s ascension to the revered throne is not only a blessing to Ibadanland but also a testament to the city’s enduring cultural heritage.
“Senator Ladoja has paid his dues in politics, governance, and community development. His coronation as Olubadan at the gracious age of 81 reflects divine favor and the collective wish of Ibadan sons and daughters. It is my prayer that his reign brings peace, unity, and accelerated progress to Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole,” Olowofela stated.
The academic and politician further hailed Ladoja’s consistent commitment to education, grassroots development, and democratic values, saying his reign promises to usher in wisdom and stability for the people.
Oba Ladoja, popularly referred to as Arusa I, who served as Governor of Oyo State from 2003 to 2007, will be officially crowned on Friday, September 26, 2025, succeeding the late Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin. His coronation is already generating excitement across Ibadanland and beyond, with dignitaries expected from all walks of life.
