This is bad news for Duoye Diri as the tribunal sitting in Abuja on Monday annulled his election as the governor of Bayelsa state.
The Cable reported that the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP) had asked the tribunal on Monday to cancel the election because it was excluded from the exercise.
Duoye Diri was Peoples Democractic Party (PDP) candidate and he assumed the position of the number one citizen of the state after supreme court sacked All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate David Lyon as governor-elect 24 hours before his inauguration.
The decision was made by the apex court after Lyon’s running mate Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo presented a forged certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
