The news that Funke Akindele, popularly called ‘Jennifer’ and her siblings shunned his dad’s burial has got people talking.
Funke Akindele, and her siblings said to be absent at their father’s burial held in Ikorodu on Friday, January 17, 2020 and this had caused controversies among her teeming fans on reason she could do that.
This has drawn the anger of the Presiding Bishop, The Rt. Rev. S.O Osundina, JP, the Bishop of Diocese of Ikorodu, Methodist Church Nigeria.
Her father, Very Revd. Godwin Olusoji Akindele, aged 72, died on Saturday, December 7, 2019, after a brief illness.
He was buried on Friday at his Ibeshe home in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area.
He was survived by three daughters – Bunmi, Funke and Bimbo and a son, Akin.
While some of her fans are blaming her for the act, some say her father was probably a bad person, a reason her daughter, Funke Akindele and her siblings shunned his burial.
