Relief came the way of both students and staff members of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), last Monday as the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, fulfilled his promise to roll out a subsidized transport system that would reduce the cost of transportation.
A statement made available to newsmen on Friday by the S.A media to the VC, Wole Balogun, in Ado-Ekiti, said a 56-seater bus was on Monday, March 1, provided by the Management for prompt implementation of the subsidized transport system. Concrete efforts have also been made to repair other vehicles so that they could be made available to accommodate more students and staff members within the shortest possible time.
The Deputy Registrar at the VC’s office who is currently in charge of the subsidized transport system, Mr. Muyiwa Ajayi, has also created a WhatsApp group for all members of the staff in Oye campus of FUOYE for proper dissemination of useful information about the transport system.
While explaining the operations of the transport system to members of staff on the group chat on Friday, Ajayi said: “You will recall that the VC promised to look into subsidizing Staff Transportation.
