Reno Omokri Hails ValueJet for Upholding Rules Over Ethnic Ties in K1 De Ultimate Incident

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has commended ValueJet Airline for prioritising professionalism and national interest over ethnic considerations in a recent incident involving Fuji music legend, K1 De Ultimate.

In a post on his official social media page, Omokri noted that ValueJet owner, Kunle Soname, is of Ijebu origin and belongs to the Lukumi Yoruba ethnic subgroup. The pilot on the flight in question, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi, is also a Lukumi Yoruba woman. Despite these shared ethnic ties, the airline reportedly did not bend its rules to favour K1 De Ultimate, who is also an Ijebu native.

“That is an excellent example of putting country before ethnicity,” Omokri wrote, adding that Nigeria’s progress depends on placing national interest above tribal affiliations.

Omokri, widely known for his #TableShaker tag, said the ValueJet decision demonstrates the importance of upholding rules equally for all, regardless of status or background.

The incident, which sparked debates on social media, has been viewed by many as a test of Nigeria’s ability to strengthen unity through fairness and the rule of law.
