A member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Oke-Ogun Federated Chapel in Oyo State counsel, Tunde Olabode has cautioned the newly elected executive of the chapel to retract the claim of his involvement in the recently conducted election, else the chapel may need to face law suit.
He said he was never part of the election as claimed by the chapel in some online media reports.
Olabode in a warning letter written by his solicitors, Bar. J.O Abdlesalam and Bar A. I Ajila said he was never involved in the election which claimed he scored one vote.
The letter reads; “We act as Solicitors to Mr. Tunde Olabode of Olabode’s Compound, Challenge I Area, Saki, Oyo-State, Nigeria (herein after called “our Client”) and on whose instructions we write you this letter.
“Our Client reliably informed us that you published false information on the social media on Wednesday, 17th August, 2022 concerning his personality while you were reporting diminishing news of a purported election of your new executives. Comrade Tunde Olabode who has 1 vote.
“Going by the said reported news you stated thus:“August 16th, 2022 is remarkable in the anal history of NUJ Oke-Ogun Federated Chapel as new Executive was elected to pilot the affairs of the chapel for the next three years.
“We have been instructed by our client to issue you a stern warning letter to promptly retract the said false publication within 24 hours of receipt of this letter, we will be compel to take necessary legal steps against you, if you failed to comply with the directive of our client.
“TAKE FURTHER NOTICE of this letter as our final notification notice on this matter. Thanks for your understanding.”
