Mrs Omolola Awoyo, who happens to be a staff member of the Apostolic Faith Group of Schools, Emure Ekiti, who was among the people that were kidnapped by gunmen inside the school bus, in Ekiti two weeks ago, during an interview with The Punch, narrated her experiences while they were in the kidnappers’ den.
While narrating the reason their bus driver was killed by the kidnappers, she said the kidnappers were not pleased with the way the man was talking to people while they were in captive.
She said, “But the day he was killed, one of the women slept at a point, and the driver asked her to shift from there because of ants. The woman shifted, but the kidnappers felt he defied their orders not to talk.”
Omolola Awoyo claimed one of the gunmen said “You have refused to take to our order not to talk, I will kill you, I will kill you,” and they immediately shot at his buttocks.
She said, “It was somebody who told me because I was scared, I didn’t lift my head to look. After killing him, they said we should stand, and move to another side.”
