Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC–Oyo South) has extended warm felicitations to Hon. (Dr) Ajibola Muraina on his birthday, while also commiserating with Rep. Anthony Adepoju and the people of Ibarapa over the passing of Chief (Dr) Amos Adepoju, the Asiwaju of Igboora land.
In a goodwill message personally signed and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Alli described Muraina as “a refined politician, distinguished lawyer, and patriotic Nigerian” whose contributions to national development remain remarkable.
He recalled Muraina’s service as a federal lawmaker, praising his commitment to effective representation, legislative excellence, and community development, which he said had positioned him as a role model for younger generations.
“Dr. Muraina’s humility, brilliance and people-oriented approach to politics continue to endear him to the masses. His remarkable journey in public service and professional life has inspired many of us,” Alli said.
The lawmaker prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and divine protection for Muraina, adding that his wealth of experience would remain relevant in shaping Nigeria’s democratic progress and strengthening institutions.
Similarly, Alli expressed grief over the demise of Chief Amos Adepoju, describing him as “a gem, a father and a patriotic leader” who dedicated his life to service.
The late Adepoju, father of Rep. Anthony Adepoju, was a former Rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Chairman of 3SC/IICC, Resident Electoral Commissioner in Nasarawa State, Administrative Secretary of the Peoples’ Conscience Party (PCP), Pioneer National Financial Secretary of the PDP, and Commissioner at the Board of Immigration, Civil Defence, Correctional and Fire Service.
“Our father, the Asiwaju of Igboora land, lived a life worthy of emulation. He was a committed and dedicated leader who used every opportunity to serve God, humanity, and the Ibarapa community,” Alli noted.
He extended condolences to Rep. Adepoju, the Adepoju family, the people of Igboora and the entire Ibarapa land, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and strength for the bereaved family.
