Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde was missing as other political bigwigs graced wedding of daughter to Former Deputy Governor of the state, Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi. Among the politicians that attended the wedding on Sunday December 18, 2022, were Adewolu Ladoja, Mulikat Akande, Nureni Akanbi, Adelabu Adebayo, Teslim Folarin, Adebisi Oloponeyan, Femi Babalola, and others that attended the wedding.
This is therefore an indication that the crisis rocking the People’s Democratic Party, both at the national and, Oyo State level is yet to be settled, as the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and other aggrieved members of the Party were missing at former deputy governor, His Excellency Bar Hazeem Gbolarumi daughter’s wedding over the weekend.
Former deputy governor and the Oyo State Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Coordinator, an outstanding politician icon in the state, Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi daughter’s wedding was attended by different political parties and figures in the state which shown that Gbolarumi is a strong political figure in the country.
Speaking via his Facebook page; Gbolarumi wrote: “yesterday 18th December, I gave my daughter, Mulikat Yetunde’s hand in marriage to her loving husband, Hassan Adebanjo. The event that took place at Jogor Center, Ring Road Ibadan.
“My thanks goes to Former Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who well represented by Engr Babajide, His Excellency Senator Adewolu Ladoja, his wife, Her Excellency Alhaja Mutia Ladoja, Oyo State PDP stakeholders, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Elder OYELESE, Engr. FEMI BABALOLA, my sister from SDP, Rt Hon. Mulikat Akande and her Party members, my brother from ANPP, Alhaji Adebisi Oloponeyan and his team, Oyo State APC Governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin and his team, APC Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Alhaji Sharafadeen Ali and his team, Accord Governorship candidate, Adebayo Adelabu and, his team, and PDP National Working Committee, just to mention few.

In the occasion, neither Gov Seyi Makinde nor his representatives was present at the wedding, as former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party PDP Presidential Candidate His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was well represented by Director Special Duties, South for Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Organization, Engr Olajide Adeniji and, his team.
Remember the G5 Governors and other aggrieved members of the party have insisted that the party’s National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, must resign for the sake of fairness.
According to the aggrieved governors, Ayu and the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar are from the North, saying the agreement was that Ayu would resign if a northerner emerged as the presidential candidate of the party, for a southerner to replace him.
Ayu has however refused to resign from office.
The G5 Governors comprise Governor Wike, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Governor Makinde and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia.
