Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has urged national leaders to focus on improving the lives of all Nigerians, rather than prioritizing the interests of a select group of gang in Lagos.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Tuesday, Makinde emphasized the need for inclusive governance that addresses the real challenges faced by citizens across the country.
“We need to focus on what Nigerians truly want. Are we addressing hunger? Are people genuinely happy? Or are we just engaging in political theatrics?” Makinde questioned.
He continued, “Leadership should not be about serving a specific section or, frankly, a clique in Lagos. It’s about lifting the entire nation. We must ensure that every Nigerian, regardless of their location, feels the impact of national governance.”
Makinde also expressed confidence in his ability to lead at the highest level, stating, “I have no doubt that I possess the capacity and competence to occupy the highest office in the land.”
