One of the stations of the Nigerian Police Force in Kogi state has been reportedly attacked by terrorists.
While speaking on the attack on Friday, William Ovye Aya who is the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said the Okehi Area Command was attacked by those the command suspected to be terrorists.
He said the suspected terrorist made use of explosives on the station and that part of the area command office was razed by the dynamite which was used by the attackers.
Speaking further, Ovye Aya said officers, noticing what was going on quickly engaged them In gun battle. Unfortunately, one of the officers, an Inspector paid ultimate price, he died during the exchange of gunfire with the terrorists. According to “Sahara Reporters”.
Although no one has claimed to be responsible for the attack on the police station but the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) has repeatedly claimed responsibility for series of attacks in the state.
