Some unknown persons who are sowing fake uniform of Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun to unsuspecting members of the public, have been reportedly arrested.
The commandant of the security outfit, Gen. Kunle Togun (retd) stated this Saturday on a radio program on Fresh FM, political circuit which was anchored by Isaac Brown.
Togun said the unscrupulous persons were arrested not far to the radio station at Challenge, saying they have been questioned and handed over to the police at Yemetu police Station.
He said: “We heard these people were sowing and selling the fake Amotekun uniform to some people particularly at Lagelu area and we are presently at the area to uncover the truth.
“Our fear is that if the uniforms get to the wrong hands and they use them to commit crimes, people will believe it’s handiwork of real Amotekun personnel.
“We are really afraid of this development because bad news spread quickly than good news”, he stated.
He added that he fired the erring Amotekun officers that killed the 21 year old Tosin Thomas in Mokola area in the state to set good example.
