The female student seen in a viral video having sex with an elderly teacher at Okadjakrom Senior High School (SHS) in Ghana has reportedly owned up to arranging the recording.
According to a popular United Kingdom-based Ghanaian media personality,Trouble Man Carlos (real name, Ransford Kojo Essilfie), who claims to have spoken directly with the student, the recording was done with the connivance of the student. Carlos claimed the student told him the teacher was always pestering him for sex,and she had become fed up with him.
According to Carlos,the student claimed she first resisted when her teacher made advances at her, but gave in after much pressure. She reportedly claimed the man then kept asking for more at every chance he got. Fed up with the situation,she reportedly decided to expose the teacher by arranging with a friend to film them in action.
The elderly teacher has now been identified as Mr Mfo Richard Tibetor,and has been suspended pending investigations. The Ghana Education Service(GES) confirmed that the teacher was attached to the Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region.
The GES also confirmed that he had been interdicted over alleged sexual misconduct with a female student. The service said the act depicted in the viral video was unacceptable,unethical, and a breach of the professional code of conduct for teachers. It said Mr Tibetor was barred from entering the school premises pending the conclusion of investigations.
The service assured parents and the public that the safety and dignity of students remain its priority. GES said any teacher found culpable of misconduct would face the full wrath of the law. It was a second suspension GES has ordered in connection with the sexual misconduct of teachers in as many weeks. An Assistant Headmaster was also suspended after a video of him playing with the breasts of a female student leaked.
