A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party Amb. Ojong Agbor, has told the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, to be bold enough to tell former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to return to the country from Dubai and join others to lift the party.
He alleged that Atiku abandoned Nigeria and its people, ran to Dubai, where he has been residing, hoping to come back next year get the ticket of the party and return back to Dubia, then return only during election.
Amb. Agbor said it was painful that the PDP National Chairman had been more comfortable with largesse from Atiku and has not been able to tell him the truth about his abandonment of the party since 2019.
According to him, it appeared that the only agenda of the National Chairman, Secondus, was to bring Atiku as candidate of the PDP again in 2023.
“Secondus should refrain from act capable of destroying the party.
“While I commend former Senate President Bukola Saraki for his peace efforts for the party, I urge him to stop looking at the elites and also give attention to emerging leaders.
“Most of those people he is visiting can’t go to the polling units to mobilize votes for the party. PDP should come down from its high horse and face reality.
“The Saraki-led reconciliation committee should start harvesting young politicians with solid grassroots base who can deliver their wards and units in 2023,” he said.
