“Feed my sheep” — John 21:16
We are mainly a product of what we’re fed. We are what we eat, wether physically, mentally or spiritually.
When we stop feeding, we start dying. We live or die based on what we eat.
A highly accomplished pharmacist noticed that the sales of drugs drastically drops during the Muslim’s fasting period. People hardly eat junks during that season.
How further could this be substantiated going by the spellings of these 2 words;
Diet and Death. The first 3 letters in “Diet” is “Die” while the 3 central letters in “Death” is “eat”.
The most influential people in our societies are feeders; Parents, Pastors, Teachers, Actors, Doctors, News casters and leaders in general.
There is a word in Hebrew language that will interest you — “Lachem”. This word doubles as a noun and a verb, and it has 3 distinct meanings. It means Food, feed and fight.
Is it not unusual to have feeding and fighting from the same root? Little wonder the popular Psalm says, “He set a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”
When the Psalmist felt he should be fighting, God asked him to start feeding!
These days as we are hedged in by ungodliness, sexual perversion, crave for money, loss of identity, insecurity, moral decadence, loss of family values, peer pressure and other vicious enemies, it’s time to feed like never before.
An empty or ignorant mind they say, is the Devil’s workshop.
We can’t afford to give a chance to these devils in our lives, marriages, children and circle of influence.
We must vigorously and voraciously feed on the Bible, proven Christian books and music, morally sound novels, movies, biographies, cartoon and preachings.
We must be mentally, morally and spiritually tough enough to protect our turf. With our words, we can carve out our world from this depraved world. We must keep talking and never get tired of talking. When it matters most, our words become an umpire. When our children or we are about going astray, it blows the whistle.
Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks:
Out of the scantiness of the heart, the mouth babbles.
