The father of Comfort Emmason, the Ibom Air passenger whose clash with a flight attendant recently went viral, has spoken out in anguish, demanding justice and compensation for what he described as the humiliation and public disgrace his daughter suffered.
Speaking with emotion, he lamented that the incident not only subjected Comfort to inhumane treatment but also inflicted deep pain and shame on their entire family. According to him, the family has been struggling to cope with the trauma and the damage to their reputation since the video of the ordeal circulated widely online.
He explained that his daughter, who he had worked hard to train, did not deserve to be stripped and humiliated in such a manner, stressing that she committed no crime to warrant such treatment.
“The way my child was treated is unjust and unacceptable,” he said. “I don’t know why it happened that way. Is it because I don’t have money? They stripped my daughter naked, and she didn’t steal. They just rubbished us and tarnished our image. I’m not feeling myself and I don’t even feel like eating anything. Compensation must be paid.”
He insisted that those responsible must be held accountable, warning that the damage done to his daughter’s dignity and to the family’s name cannot simply be ignored.
The distraught father further emphasized that the incident had left a lasting scar on his daughter’s life and career prospects, and therefore justice must be served.
